Ninety Six National Historic Site will host a free, family friendly "Military Life: Living History" event and the Fort Jackson Brass Band on Saturday, June 17. These events remember the siege of Ninety Six that took place from May 22 to June 18, 1781. During the longest field siege of the Revolutionary War the Patriot troops under the command of Major General Nathanael Greene attempted to capture the Star Fort and the town of Ninety Six.
